Welcome to the Student Member Headquarters!  As a student, you took an important step in your life when you decided to enter the dental hygiene profession. You will soon be experiencing the challenging and rewarding career of dental hygiene, and the Minnesota Dental Hygienists’ Association wants to be here for you every step of the way! Whether you’ve just started a dental hygiene program or are preparing to graduate, ADHA-Student Membership is your first link to the dental hygiene profession.

When you join ADHA as a Student Member, you also become a member of your state association (MnDHA) and your school’s student chapter as well. Membership in ADHA joins you with an organization of dental hygiene students dedicated to building the ethical and educational future of your profession.

Eligibility for Student Membership

Student membership may be granted to any student

  • Currently enrolled in an accredited dental hygiene program or
  • Who has graduated from an accredited dental hygiene program and is currently pursuing a baccalaureate or graduate degree complementary to a career in dental hygiene in an accredited college or institution of higher education.

Student Membership Dues

Student membership applications and dues are submitted to the ADHA’s Member Services Division – Student Relations each fall/winter. National dues for student members are $65. Student memberships are current for one year (January – December).

The American Dental Hygienists’ Association invites you to stay connected with the largest professional organization representing the interests of dental hygienists by transitioning your Student membership to Active membership for FREE.

Student Chapters

As an ADHA Student Member you are also a member of your Student Chapter.Each Student Chapter has its own specific goals and will form committees based on the needs of each particular chapter.

Common activities that Student Chapters stay involved with are:

  • Community Outreach
  • Fundraising
  • Research Poster Sessions, etc.

Officers are nominated for each Student Chapter. Being an officer of your Student Chapter is great a way for you to become more engaged in your chapter, professional association and profession. Standard officers are president, vice president or president-elect, secretary and treasurer; each elected for a one-year term.

Elections normally take place at the first chapter meeting of the school year. For more information contact your ADHA Student Chapter Advisor.
