Cheryl Clements, RDH, MS
What does your work life look like?
I transitioned to sales after 23 years of clinical hygiene- it’s a huge change and I miss having my own patients – but love helping offices all over the state implement the best preventive protocols for their patients!
When you began as a dental hygienist did you think your career would take you to where you are, or where you are heading?
I think we all go into hygiene wanting to help people and with a passion for prevention. I went back for my MSDH hoping to further my career options, and be able to stay in patient care. I love meeting new people and being involved in prevention and providing optimal patient care. Working in hygiene gives us the opportunity to help improve patients’ lives every day !
How has your ADHA membership been a part of your career and life?
I was a member early in my career and didn’t join again until graduate school. I wish I hadn’t let my membership lapse because the connections made with other like-minded hygienists are so important. Being able to collaborate and brainstorm ideas to keep our profession moving forward is inspiring.
